Interior Design Inspiration

At times its kinda sorta frustrating living in an apartment from a designer's standpoint. To me, its our home, but its not our permanent home. I hold off on buying really fun wall art or furniture pieces since I don't know what type of space our future house will have.

Do you know how hard this is being an artist?! I want to go the nearest ikea, grab a cart, get a running start,  leap onto the back and put out my right arm across the closest shelf and have all the items cascade into the cart like as if I'm on supermarket sweep. (Minus those terrible sweaters)

So for now we have a generic sofa with generic curtains and a 42" flat screen TV (Cause, really, why watch TV if you don't actually feel like your inside of the TV?) (I want to be able to touch Brad Pitt's abs with ease here people) (by the way you can thank Bubs for the gigando TV, I would've been ok watching Netflix off of my MacBook)

I've been collecting little bits of inspiration here and there for when we finally get a home! A place where I can make a more permanent investment design wise. Of course the TV comes with us, in my spare time I like to watch re-runs of Dawson's Creek and instagram photos of myself with a life size Pacey in the background.

Whatever, you do it too.

I need these floating book shelves. Why? So that whenever guests come over I can be all like "OH SHIZ ITS HAPPENING AGAIN! THAT EVIL GHOST THAT ONLY I CAN SEE IS HOLDING UP OUR BOOKS. QUICK HE'LL ONLY STOP IF YOU LEAVE" …aaaand thats how you get rid of uninvited guests folks

you are welcome.

You know what I hate more than anything in life? Wallpaper. I hate it I hate it I HATE IT. I know, this is a shocker right? What ruined my love for wallpaper was when my family moved into our 2nd home then ENTIRE FREKKIN HOUSE was covered in this gnarly 1970s floral wallpaper. And since the wallpaper had been up for YEARS it was a beast and a half to take down. Plus I feel like wallpaper quickly outdates a room, I mean unless you pick a neutral pattern. Which is why I love the idea of the bathroom having some stripes to it. Plus It'll give me something to count while I'm going to the bathroom.

I have been collecting so much artwork for our future home. I love the idea of having all our photos covering one entire wall. Although I can also see this plan quickly backfiring the first time bubs decides to chase me around the house and I go toppling into the wall and taking out every frame we own.

he really likes to chase me.

I want a clean looking kitchen. The crisp white with that pop of yellow? Swoon to the max. Besides it also makes me feel like I'm living in an egg or something, which I mean thats cool right?

Since we probably wont have the moola to do a total kitchen revamp I'm thinking for the time being if the cabinets aren't white already that we just paint those bad boys right up and add some modern looking hardware to them.

GAAAHHH I AM SO EXCITED SOMEONE BUY ME A HOUSE NOW PLEASE?

Bub? You out there? I'm talkin' to you.

Round Up! Some etsy faves

Today was supposed to be "tutorial tuesday"

But I got super excited about showing you all my arrow head necklace DIY yesterday that I totally lost track of days.

it happens.

So now tutorial tuesday moved to monday and friday faves moved to tuesday.

Are ya with me?

I know, my head hurts too.

Here are some of my favorite etsy round ups that is going to cause homegirl's paypal account to shrink down even more.

So Julie is in my top 10 favorite people of all time. I got to meet her a few months back at a lil bloggy get together. She's super adorable & also has a potty mouth like me. Seriously, check out her shop, her cards are "the ish".

so erika added a TON of new modern purses to her shop, and I honestly have no clue which I want to buy next (and by "buy" I mean stealthily sending Bub links to erika's shop so he can get me one for our anniversary) (I'm super easy like that) (you are welcome bub)

it's funny, I am so not into dangle earrings at all, but these are speaking to me. They are saying "Leonora you need to rock these so fierce that your ears fall off"

Thanks earrings, I do rock things pretty fiercely don't I?

I'm a HUGE on telling everyone to follow their dreams and goals. Andrea and I go way back (ok, by way back I mean, like, a year, but still...) I own so many of her blocks. The craftsmanship is amazeballs and her sayings rock. Also? Her prices are super reasonable, go shop there. Now. You have my permission.

I had no clue hardware could be so cute, consider my life changed from this moment on forever.

no words. need.

Umm, I think you guys can see a common color theme starting to form here...what? I really like mint, ok? I think it's because its named after something edible and I really enjoy eating a ton.

What are some of your faves lately? Link 'em below!

Summer Faves!

It's officially summer you guys! Now, I don't get this weather, but yesterday in NY I was in boots, skinny jeans and a jacket--today I am dying in a little sundress.

I put together some summer faves of mine. If I win lotto this is where my first few hundred bucks is going. The rest of my millions is going to be turned into singles, then placed into a giant pool so I can roll 'round in it for a while. Sure, its probably super filthy, but hey I'm a millionaire who needs hygiene now anyway?

I guess I was inspired by my new branding colors to pick out some faves that were soft pinks, pretty salmons and a hint of mustard yellow.

1. Summer Navajo Zip Pouch by The Wonder Forest
I'm sure most of you know Dana from the Wonder Forest, but maybe you don't, in which case I feel bad for you. Dana is a graphic designer too (representin'! fist pound to the chest) and homegurl's got talent. If you wanna stare at your screen for a few hours till you go cross-eyed then check out her shop. You are welcome.

2. Sweet Pea Coral Pink Bracelet by Junghwa
Being a graphic designer I have learned to hate bracelets. I know you probably think thats weird but you try to use a mouse all day while a piece of metal is digging into your wrist-not fun. It's bad enough my future is doomed to carpal tunnel we don't need to add "getting a metal bracelet stabbed into your wrist" to the mix. This bracelet is so simple, dainty and light weight that I can totally design stuff while wearing it. Need. Now.

3. Fedora by Anthropologie
Ok, confession alert, wanna know how many hats I own? Over 50. I know, it's a sickness. And I only have one head so that makes it even worse. But guys LOOK AT IT ITS SO CUTE I NEED IT NOW.

4. Light Hearted Sundress by ModCloth
Ok, this dress? I can just see myself in some high fashion top knot sitting on some blanket in a park somewhere while my dog chases his tail in a field full of sunflowers. What? My fictitious dog is a moron what do you want from me?

5. Coral White Dot Zipper Pouch by Made by Hank
you guys, I GET TO MEET KATIE IN THE FLESH IN 2 DAYS. Pretty much anything and everything I make at Renegade is going straight towards Katie's inventory.

6. Notting Hill Bow Flats by Shop Ruche
Ok, COME ON do these shoes need an explanation?? Can't you see me wearing them while walking said fictitious dog in scenario #4 above? Ok, you can? See, this is why we're friends, because you guys totally get my visions.

What are some of your summer faves?

(and PS-I get asked this a lot, but I make these collages in adobe illustrator. This one looks kinda pathetic b/c I'm too busy designing logos for everyone and their 3rd cousin twice removed on their mother's grandfather's side at the current moment, so excuse the quick botch job.)

Friday Faves the Renegade Edition!

Hey Guys! As you all know this blog has been pretty sparse in blog posts due to me gettin' ready for Renegade Craft Fair!

There will be about 300 vendors, if you're going to be in brooklyn June 23/24 come on over the Booth #59 and give me a "waddup" and a "holla". In case you are unsure who I am just look for the overly pasty girl with the horrible Long Island accent. See Also: Real Housewives of New Jersey or the Jersey Shore for said accent.

It's something of proud of guys, it just happened, ok?

ok, focus Leonora.

I wanted to do a friday faves dedicated to some of my favorite vendors going to this years Renegade! I am SO STOKED to finally get to meet the lovely ladies behind some of these shops. I am going to attempt to leave my military boyfriend in charge of my hippy booth for a hot sec while I frolic and spend money I don't have on things I clearly need from other vendors.

FRIDAY FAVES:

the greatest purses ever made by Made by Hank

um, yeah, these are HANDMADE PURSES. I know, I'm in shock too. Katie Henry makes modern looking purses that are not all foo-foo-girly-girly. The quality is un-freakin-believable. No joke you would think there were commercially made bags. Katie stole my heart way before I even had a shop on etsy myself. I adore her shop and love how it is super raw and original. You go girl.

Geometric Wonderness from Son of a Sailor

I think I love son of a sailor so much because just like made by hank their stuff is all simple, modern, and WITH IT. You don't see too many handmade products like this circulating out there. Made props guys.

Cutesy and Modern goodies from Homako

so, check it, her stuff was actually sold in anthropologie! She also makes ORIGAMI NECKLACS out of FABRIC. Mind officially blown and exploded to bits.

link up with THIS GIRL

So I get all weird out when I tell people I'm going to be in a craft fair. I feel like craft fairs have gotten a bad rap. People don't associate them with frekkin awesome shizznat like all that stuff above. I pinky promise its cool to be in a fair--promise I'm still cool guys.

anyway, off to sew plush #490,564,056,090....eh, I lost count.

Friday Faves!

Oh blogging world, how I've MISSED you!

Things have been pretty hectic round here. I promise once things settle down I'll be back to writing up nonsensical posts real soon.

But till then, check out the latest and greatest round up of Friday Faves!

(It's times like this I really wish I had a huge gong to smash. Or a gang of trumpeteers circa Cinderella style to follow me and play "DUN DUN NA DUUUUUN!" whenever I announce something epic) (see? Nonsensical) (Moving on)

First off-my apologies for my text being no where near said adorable Glovettes. Apparently there is a huge amount of white space around the gloves. I wanna rock these lovelies on a harley, just so that I can be "bad ass" yet "super preppy". Of course the Harley would be parked stationary in a driveway and I would have 2 people spot me on either side to make sure I didn't fall off--so maybe bad ass is the wrong word to use here.

I always thought I wanted a black diamond engagement ring. Then Amy talked some sense into me and was all like "weeeell do you REALLY want a BLACK stone for something as nice as an engagement? Seems kinda like it reeks of doom and despair". Homegirl is right. Guess I'll just have to demand 2 rings, huh? (just kidding on the whole "demand" thing, I'm going to bat my lashes and cock my head to side and hope the cute factor works)

Want is an understatement. This falls into the "need" category. Ya know, next to food, clothes and shelter.

Can I play the Harmonica? No. But What I can do is start playing it obnoxiously loud when Bub and I get into our scuffles, it'll be a nice change of pace from me closing my eyes, plugging my ears with my index fingers, and screaming "LA LA LA I CANT HEAR YOU LA LA LA LAAAA" (ok we really don't fight like that) (I lock myself in the bathroom instead-way more classier and mature)

Ok these are waaaay cheaper than that black diamond ring I posted above-so I don't see why these lil fellas can't find their way to me sometime soon by a certain gent who goes by Bubs?

What are your plans for the weekends?

xoxo

Friday Faves! Mint and Coral!

Confession Alert: I totally wanna eat all these friday faves.

Not that any of them are edible, just go with it.

((yo santa--this would look ballin' under my xmas tree this year. Not sayin', just sayin')) ((Also? I really love lockets. It's like I get to hide something super secret inside of there and no one has to know. Pretty sure in my past life I was a super secret spy))

2. Little Miss Cotton Candy - The Cupcake Girls

((I wanna take this lil doll and put her in my pocket))

((say it with me now..."yes"))

4. polka-dot .vintage. hair bow - The Vintage Closet

((I wanna wear this bow while eating a ton of candy off a very fast conveyor belt)) ((channeling your inner "i love lucy" anybody?)) ((lucyyyyy you got some 'splaining to dewww))

5. Paper Garland Hearts - Yellow Bird Yellow Beard

((Screw tinsel, my tree needs to be wrapped up in these lovelies))

6. Handmade Rubber stamp - Creatiate

((super fun to add to packages! Handmade with care, love, and some BOOM BOOM POW)) ((what? you don't use any boom boom pow when making your swag?))

((to-do lists just got a lot more fun folks))

what are your faves?

Happy Friday Friends! (Dear Weekend: I love you, don't ever leave me again)

Friday Faves!

Dear Etsy: Stop being so awesome.

Actually, never mind, let the awesomeness continue.

I'll just get a 3rd job to buy everything in my faves.

Or sell a non-vital organ on ebay, whichever.

Love,
Leonora.

Or as I like to call it "the grinch" necklace b/c the grinches heart grew 3 sizes too big. (cheesy? Maybe. but would you expect anything else from me? Exactly.)

Dude, I want to eat this bracelet. (side note: don't do 2 things while hungry; go food shopping AND browse etsy b/c you will think inedible objects are delish) (another side note: when I was a kid I thought "inedible" was "ineatable". Ok so I was a special kid)

I have no idea why I love this frekkin ring so much, but I must own it. I think my ring fingers deserves to be treated like royalty, doncha think? Too bad my pudgie fingers are too big for this ring. I think this calls for a water diet.

One day I will make a friday faves that doesn't have anything with mustard and gray in it. But not today. Or probably next week. Or probably ever. Wow, just totally made a liar outta myself there...I am not proud of this moment either guys.

I like how if I were to own this bag my make up would be way more fashionable than me.

what are some of your faves? Happy Friday Loves!

Friday Faves! The "I browsed my etsy faves" edition

It's weird, I have always loved etsy, but now since I have a shop on there I find myself stalking etsy like some sort of deranged hunger induce lioness hunting for prey.
Well, thats a visual there now isn't it?

I am so proud of myself, as much as I want to add all 438,957,675,109,348,947 items to my cart and exclaim WEEEEEE SHOPPING SPREE! I don't.

So instead I share my faves with you lovelies so I can live vicariously through you. And if you wanted to, like, I don't know, buy some for me and mail them to me I wouldn't really hate you for that. In fact, I totally encourage it.

Stripe Sleeping Beauty Mask by Rouge & Whimsy

Confession Alert: I rarely wash my eye makeup off my face before going to bed, which results in me waking up like some football player who has just played the super bowl for 8 hours. This is perfect for hiding my eyes and having bub wake up to this gorgeous sleep mask and not Peyton Manning.

Leg Warmers by Mademoiselle Mermaid

I'm so happy that ballerinas aren't the only ones allowed to wear leg warmers anymore. I totally don't have the grace of a ballerina--unless ballerinas are allowed to do the roger rabbit and the sprinkler, if so then blast some vanilla ice and sign me up.

Open Ring by Joy Killed the Poet

how cool is this ring?! It's open up top so the 2 stones rest inside your 2 fingers. It's like a 2 for one freebie. Also doubles as one sick optical illusion. Move over Cris Angle, I have my own tricks now.
Boom.

Light Grey Bubble Scarf by Fair Store

umm. fun. (thats all that needs to be said)

a little bear that can be my photography assistant? Sold.
Maybe he can take all my "what I wore Wednesday" shots for me. You're Hired!

What are your favorites friends??

ALSO!

didja enter to win a lovely infinity scarf by Cotton Lane? If not, umm, you should.

one more thing...do you have a handmade shop or blog? If so you should be a part of Swag Swap Week! A week of swapping your goods for goods in other shops! OR Bloggers can swap ad space with shop owners in return for their goods! (I Know, ballin')

Friday Faves!

This weeks friday faves will try to have a theme of sorts, but I dont think it will haha!

So, we're just gonna go with it and see what happens. You all ready? annnnnnd go.

I am in love with this, mainly because her art reminds me of my friend Kate. You guys don't know kate so this statement means nothing to you all. But rest assure kate is pretty awesome, swear.

I love cameras. I love saying hello. I love art. I love this card. End of story.

Yes to everything about this cute little purse. I need it for my wedding. Disclaimer: I'm not engaged, let's not tell Bub I need this for my wedding, kay? Or else there will be a little "Dust Outline" all Looney Toons style of Bub's body from where he took off like the wind.

Oh, whats that? The link you clicked on said it was sold? That's cause It's mine (evil laugh) I can not WAIT to wear this lovely all in mah 'do.

this takes my love for chevron to the next level.

Ok, screw the iPad, someone buy me this coat. (ok, can I have the iPad *and* the coat? Ok, I'm selfish, I'll admit it, admitting it is the first step)

(...sooo whats the status of that iPad?)

(no iPad? ok. fine.)

happy fridays guys!

and in case you missed it, we're OPEN FOR BUSINESS AGAIN! check our our NEW STUFF!

Ya know how you know you really really really want something? Well, you know you have a serious case of the "OMG why didn't I buy that?!" blues when you're on your disney vacation and you're snapping a pic with your prince charming boyfriend out front of thee castle where all things magical and amazing happen and all you can think about is this top.

poppin my foot like its hot.

Ok, so I have a problem. The second our plane touched back down into NY I quickly hoped online and added this reverie top to my cart. It is on it's way to Long Island and I am one happy princess girl.

I wanted to do a Friday Faves inspired by what I would wear when I get this top. I've never actually rocked shorts with tights before but hey, any excuse to get extra wears outta my shorts I am totally on board for. Consider me on Team "Saving Money by Wearing Your Summer Clothes in The Winter". Werd.

You know what else is just as equally as awesome to extending the life of your wardrobe? That would be winning this Jessica N Designs giveaway. So if your name is Lauren and you love some Monogram Necklaces then I think you need to get at me--ya hur?
