Friday Faves! The Little Blue Box Edition

Wanna play a game?

(well, not that you have a choice)

Ok whats the first thing you think of when you see this lil fella?

oh don't worry, your heart will resume back to its normal beats per minute shortly.

My heart races too when I see that Tiffany blue box with that perfect white bow wrapped up on top.

pretty sure angels themselves actually wrap these up.

I don't know what it is, but that little blue box always has magic inside of it.

Now if that little blue box cause just figure out a way for me to eat deep fried koolaid with out gaining on ounce, then THAT would be really magical.

(and yes, there is such a thing as deep fried koolaid. yes you have my permission to drool and thank me later. I will be invested in a deep fryer this weekend)

Since I won't be getting any Tiffany's anytime soon I figured the next best thing was to create a Friday Faves full of that oh-so-swoon-er-refic color we have all known to love.

1. Fast Clouds Necklace by Little Ocean
2. Restored Typewriter from Brooklyn Retro
4. Loretta Deco Dot Apron by Mod Cloth
5. Rustic Wood Flowers by Uncommon
6. Out To Sea-Foam Dress by Mod Cloth

Nice second to gettin' the lil blue box, right?

We even added some Tiffany Blue to our shop!

Also some more from one of our favorite etsy shops:

Happy Friday!

Things I've Learned (While living with a Boy)

So now that I officially live with a boy (may lord help me) I have discovered that Bub has some interesting, well, "quirks".

Living with someone, whether it be your significant other or best friend, is all about compromise.

So now, in no particular order what so ever, I present to you my list of things I have learned over the past month and a 1/2 of being with the boy. (Do you guys like bullet points? Cause I do…)

• Your boyfriend will find a way to get black silly puddy stuck in the remote control-- He will then find someway to blame you for this ("Why do you let me do these things??" -Bub)

no remotes were injured in the making of this really "awesome super great" idea.

• There is never ever enough milk in the apartment (ever).

• Apparently my hair gets everywhere. I didn't realize I shed so much. Bub even found one of my hairs wrapped around his toe (Yeah, just one single toe--i guess thats my way of "marking my territory".)

• That gnarly smell that won't leave your apartment for the past week will be some long lost food item hidden in the back of your fridge (oh, hey broccoli, so nice to see you again…I think it's time for you to leave)

• When buying a queen bed make sure you actually have bedding for it--or else you play the "race against the clock" game where you sprint into Bed, Bath and Beyond at 8:58pm on a tuesday night (while rocking your hot cartoon monkey face jammies and pair of flip flops that dont match) and pray they have SOME sort of bedding on sale since you, of course, do not have your handy dandy 20% off coupon with you (and you KNOW you have a gagillion of them too, why do they send so many anyway? I can wallpaper my apartment in 20% off coupons).

• A boy can eat an entire heaping bowl of grapes over the course of 24 hours (No, its ok, really, I didn't want any)

• Toilet seat wars: Up VS. Down (Down, every time down wins)

• Watching your boyfriend play "Call of Duty" is apparently "bonding" time (I didn't get the memo, must have went into my junk mail)

I really really, like, hate this game.

• …and when you DO to finally decide to give in and play Call of Duty you realize that all you can make your little man do is run around in circles, look up, and shoot at the sky. Your boyfriend will skillfully sneak up behind you and stab you in the back. This will inevitably lead to an argument every.single.time.  (ahhh young love--I know ladies back off, he's mine.)

• Bub apparently sleep walks. I hope to never ever experience this phenomena ever again. Waking up to your boyfriend standing at the edge of the bed just staring at while he tugs on the sheets and your t-shirt is NOT one of his "little habits that I'll find cute over time". This will never ever be cute--it is straight up creepy. Sleeping beauty didn't have to deal with this crap--Disney lied, I want my money back.

aww look at that, the handsome prince is ever so endearingly kissing the sweet princess in her sleep--contrary to popular belief chicks dont dig being waken up like they're in some horror movie in their own apartment. ((photo courtesy of Disney))

• I don't even know how my Yellow Heart Art Banner got on the cold cuts, but it did.

Maybe this is a sign that if my art prints and jewelry doesn't pan out I can totally be the next boars head or oscar myer.

• Say goodbye to all your favorite trashy reality TV shows and Hello to "Boy Commentary"

• I am banned from folding bub's socks. The boy only owns those white champion ankle sock thingy-ma-jiggies and he claims each one "has a pair". (Yes, I'm serious)

• Your already tiny fridge will soon be half filled with trays of Jell-o and beer (yes, trays of jello-, as in plural. It's ok, I really didn't want any room for the milk that we never have anyway…)

• Sure, your combat boots can totally lay in the middle of the kitchen, I love tripping over them in the middle of the night when I go to the bathroom.

• The toilet paper roll battle continues (*I* put the last roll on! No, *I* put the last roll on!)

• Your weekends on "google calendar" start to look like this:

"have a million errands to run on the weekends"

Even though Bubs drives me up a wall, I really truly love going to bed and waking up with him--he gives me the warm and fuzzies and does make me feel like a "Disney Princess" when he's not standing over the bed glaring at me in the middle of the night...

yep, totally wear glasses--threw you a curve ball there didn't I?

what does your signficant other do that drives ya crazy?

Tutorial Tuesday! Free "Today, I feel" Printable!

We all have one of "those days"

The days where nothing seems to go right so you wallow your self pity in a giant vat of ben and jerry's "Half Baked" (totally 100% guilty as charged)

Or you feel the need to morn the loss of your favorite white shirt (That you accidentally shrank in the dryer--again) by buying a puppy (Ok, I am not guilty of this, but i really want an excuse to buy a puppy, like, way bad. And if I bought a puppy for every shirt I ruined then I would own an entire pet store. So instead of doing giveaways on my blog for necklaces or prints I would also have to giveaway lil pooches)

Now you can warn your Hubs or Co-Workers as to what mood your in with our supah cute (and FREE) "today I will..." printables!

Click on image, right click to save to desk top, print out, cut out our "Today I Will..." Card, then place any emotion you're feeling in that spot!

cause let's be honest, sometimes you need to shamefully relive your youth by rocking out to every 90's boyband ever made (and I'm not just talking bout Backstreet boys or N SYNC, I'm talking bout O'Town and Five)

Rock on guys, rock on.

My weekend was just rosey :)

You know what I seriously dig?

I dig supporting other handmade businesses.
I also dig dressin' up mah 'do with some "hair bling" as I so endearingly call it.

I own a redic amount of headbands (I won't tell you the exact amount, but just know that I claimed territory on top of Bub's and I dresser for all my hair swag--a small child could get lost in all my stuff. Please don't bring your kids over my apartment, I can't guarantee that you'll leave with them)

check out these 2 lovelies that I got to wear this weekend

how AWESOME is this color combo?! Teal and red?! MEGA swoon alert here. The beautiful Ilene from Much Love, Illy made this adorbs lil number. You can score yourselves a dancing through strawberry fields poppy lace headband here!

another confession alert: I own a ton of Oh, Sweet Joy! Swag as well. Totally crushin hardcore on my tomato red trio rosette headband

what are your go-to looks for your 'do?

Say Cheese Saturday!

This past weekend The bubs and I met up with my best friend of all time (Kate the Great as I endearingly call her, been going strong for 13 years now--AND she's not sick of me yet)

Her and The Hubs invited us to the Cradle of Aviation Museum. Kate's Husband, Bill, is a recent member of the US Airforce (He's at the same base as Bubs) so she thought it would be fun for the 2 boys to run rampant in a building full of planes.

Clearly Kate and I took the Cradle of Aviation very seriously...

failed attempt to mimic the guy in the background with the raddest hat I've ever seen.

We tried to fly an old school plane which seemed totally and completely safe and fool proof, why its no longer approved by the TSA baffles me.

see where my hips fall? Yeeeah thats how you steer the plane. You get down with yo bad self and do a lil shimmy dance to get the plane to go left or right. Pretty sure there is also no seat belt or barf bag.

I also tend to wander in public places, but Bub found my hiding spot.

guys look, I'm in a platoon.

Bub tends to wander too though, I found him spinning something--your guess is as good as mine as to what it is. Even he had no clue what he was doing...he just likes to spin things.

ha look at his face. he is so into it--and yet he has no clue what he is so into.

The boys found a "flight simulator" where you could attempt to land a plane on a Navy Barge.

dont they look presh.

aaaand Kate and I of course taking the Museum seriously...

Sad Story Guys: I crashed the plane. Side Note: Holy Heck my hair is LONG.

Clearly this was also an opportunity for Facebook Profile Pictures (duh)

The Bubs and I (I had to promise him a piece of candy to get him to stand still for the photo)

Kate and Bill (Same pose as Steve and I--weird)

-HELLO!-
Getting down n dirtaaay in the museum
Get a room you 2, or at least an unoccupied air craft.

and finally no trip to the museum isn't complete with out hoping the exhibit and taking a ride on an atomic bomb...

...and poor bub--he couldn't get out of the way in time for Kate and Bill's take off. Bub is now an airplane hood ornament. Ha.

What do you all have plan for the weekend?

DONT FORGET!

Friday Faves! A new twist on an old classic

Hello my loves!

I'm doing something a wee bit different for my "Friday Faves!" post.

Instead of highlighting a whole bunch-o-way-awesome-crizzap I decided to introduce to you guys to a fun little shop I found on Etsy.

One of the good things about Etsy is its handmade community. I discovered this shop while browsing through my activity feed--they had "hearted" one of my items, I stalked their shop, and the rest is history (very "when Harry met Sally" but more of an updated version of it--actually its nothing like "When Harry met Sally", disregard this comment)

Jess is the lovely lil gal behind "Buttered Toast" (I know, her shop name is mega adorbs, kinda jealous mine isn't as faboosh)

She creates the cutest accessories for wee lil lads (thats "lil boys" in case you couldn't understand my ridiculously awesome British accent)

Now, we all know my obsession with the following items (in no particular order)
• Bows
• Polka Dots
• Anything that can be clipped into my hair to hide my "mutt hair"
• Discovering that Bub didn't eat the last golden oreo (Have you guys ever had golden oreos? If not I give you permission to X out of this page, run to the nearest super market, and try this amazing concoction of cookie and cream)

So when I came across this creation I just KNEW I had to ask Jess if she could throw an alligator clip in it so I can sport it in my hair.

it was love at first sight (Kinda like when Harry Met Sally--hey, I think this old school movie reference actually worked here--go me)

Jess loved my idea (she even said she never even thought of making them for lil ladies!) I got it in the mail the other day and coordinated an outfit to go with it.

oh hey, total side note, but remember myspace and how people took really tacky self portraits of themselves in the bathroom?

well, you've been warned.

I know your jealous of my mad Ansel Adams-esque photography taking skillz. Just know that my arms are not THAT long (I sometimes feel like a Trex, giant head, short arms, mega problem) but I was able to get the back of my head AND me looking all snazzy in one ballin' shot (BOOYAH! Take THAT oprah! Ok, I really have no idea why I just said that, Oprah has nothing to do with this blog post what so ever...)

Hey Leo, where yo bow be at?

Oh, There it is!

It also gives me suh-weet "Eeyore tail"

and yes, I am aware that I wear this outfit a lot, ok? It's my "go-to"

In conclusion: If you're looking for a heavy duty handmade bow (these bows are meant to withstand the roughhousing of little boys that are 6 and under, pretty sure it can withstand a stroll in my 'do) then definitely check out Buttered Toast. Jess is a doll and totally easy to work with!

Tell her Leo sent ya, it wont get ya a discount or anything but it makes me feel super important.

Happy Friday!

Oh also did you win our snazzy MoKoPo Creations handmade painting AND shop credit?!

well, if you are luckay #9 and have a ballin' nickname (like, oh, I don't know, Midge?) Then give me a HOLLA so I can hook you up with your swag!

OH also, did you know we are having a pretty epic shop sale?! Get the full details here! See cliff notes version below :)
