Boo-Yah! (Wait, I mean Buoy)

Wow, ya know, I'm a lil disappointed in myself.

I'm so big into photography and I haven't posted any legit "Hey, I'm a hippy and I frolic in a field while wearing a totally rad flowing skirt" artsy photos on here yet!

Well this must change stat.

This past weekend Bub and I headed out to the Hamptons to meet up with our friends Kate and Bill.

While there we ate at a mega cute out door restaurant, and since it was the Hamptons about 98% of all restaurants out there are beached themed.

Only I would quickly scarf down my corn chowder soup (ok, who brought the chick that orders the corn chowder in june?!) so I could hop the fence and take pics of the buoys out front.

Enjoy guys!

Probably my all time favorite color combination: Robins egg blue and red. HOLLA!

Look at that texture! (yum)

ahhh photography, I missed you.

True Story: I actually took these on my lil bright pink point-n-shoot camera, accidentally left the Canon Rebel at home (I know, I'm a terrible mom to my Rebel...I promise sweetie Mommy loves you)

What do you love to take pictures of?

Have you seen the latest lovely to enter the shop? It was inspired by beachy colors from my trip to the hamptons!

Friday Faves! The "Boys are messy and smelly" Edition

It's official

I am now a big girl

Homegirl has an apartment.

Total confession time: for the past month Bubs and I were sharing a twin bed. Yep, we were kickin' it old school. Ahh yes it was so romantic, every other night Bub would ask me to "move over" so he would have more room, to which I would reply "What would you like me to do? I know this might sound really strange to you but I can't use the process of osmosis to morph myself into the wall"

Now we have a queen (ahhhh the luxury) and with the queen came new bedding and a new re-working of our bedroom.

Living with a boy is kinda rough--they are, like, really messy and eat an insane amount of food (who takes an ENTIRE loaf of italian bread, cuts it in 1/2, and proceeds to make a "small snack" out of it?!)

We've had to compromise in the "decorating" department. Now Bubs is kinda lucky since I don't have "foo-foo-girly" taste to begin with. I do enjoy my modern design a lot. I, on the other hand, am not so lucky. There is still an on going battle as to what room the "Neon Beer Sign" will go in (my vote is the circular filing cabinet, aka the garbage) and don't get me started on the giant "Jack Daniel's Whiskey" barrel lid that he bought down in Nashville.

Awright, let's get the "friday faves" show on the road, the "I now live with a boy so help me god" edition.

I picked my faves around "#2" the Nautica Knots Bedding. We currently have this up in our digs so I worked everything around that.

1. Hello Camera Metal Art by Fluffy Co.
2. Nautica Knots Bed Set by Nautica
3. Smile Pillow in Yellow by Honey Pie Designs (thought it was be fun to use with the "camera" art, get it? smile? ok moving on...)
4. Zinnia Hooks by Anthropologie
6. Hemnes Bed Set by IKEA
7. Lucky Number Knobs by Anthropologie (you know you're getting old when you get mega stoked over some knobs...)

So...do ya like my new bedroom?

ALSO! Are you the winner of our Weekend Vintage Giveaway?

If your name starts with "Ash" and ends in "Ley" & you were #21 then come on down home girl and give me a HOLLA!

CONGRATS LOVE!!

A Few of my Favorite Things! (Minus #6, my bad)

I'm really crushin' on this grouping of Friday Faves this week!
1 - Snip Snip Fabric Frame Necklace - by Oh, Sweet Joy!
2 - Gray & Mustard Tote - by Apearantly Sew
3 - Arboretum Picnic Dress - by ModCloth
4 - Darling Harbour Button Down - by Gilly Hicks
6 - (Wow guys this is embarrassing, I didn't save this grouping on my computer, so ummm, 6 is MIA. Actually there never was a 6 I just got super excited and went from 5 to 7. Hey, it happens...nothing against the #6 I just had a real bad mental brain lapse. Let's move on to some more faves and forget this even happened...)
7 - Large Ivory Sailor Knot Headband - by Marcelacamargo
8 - This is Love, Vintage Kids Necklace - by Oh Hello Friend
9 - Linen & Lace Cuff in Natural - by Peggy Ann Design

Ok so with the exception that I apparently missed some vital sesame street episodes as a kid in regards to how to count to 10 I still think this grouping is pretty baller. The Oh, Sweet Joy! necklace is perfect gift for a seamstress or even a hairdresser, and the best part is you can run around while sporting this necklace and not have to worry about the scissors poking your eye out (take that mom!). The Mustard and Gray tote would be perfect for schlepping around some of your picnic goodies while sporting that wicked gorgeous ModCloth dress and the Much Love Illy head band. I have a soft place in my heart for anything nautical (which is odd because I get sea sick like whoa) so I have to say sayonara to any boat outings but I can still say "why helloooOoO" to that super awesome Sailor knot head band, the Gilly Hicks red and white button down as well as that navy blue and red cuff by Peggy Ann Designs (side note: the designers name is actually Hannah--I know she fooled me too)

Happy Friday! Oh, and HELLO WEEKEND! (I missed you, did you miss me? Yeah, thought so too)

oh hey! are you an indie shop ownah? Check out swag swap week! It's pretty neat, swap your swag for otha swag, deets here!
